Monasterio de Piedra
The Monasterio de Nuestra Señora de Piedra is located in autonomous community Aragón, around 3 hours from Valencia. The journey takes us back over 800 years to explore natural landscapes, dreamlike waterfalls, fairytale lakes, enchanting hiking trails, and art. The Monasterio de Piedra is one of the most visited places of Aragón. Its history dates back to 1194 when Alonso II “the Chaste” and his wife Doa Sancha donated an old Moorish castle to the Poblet monks to establish a monastery and transplant the Christian faith to the region. On February 16, 1983, the entire complex was declared a national monument.
This paradisiacal place is located in the village of Nuévalos in Zaragoza, on the banks of the river Pierda, with impressive waterfalls such as Trinidad, la Caprichosa, or la Cola Caballo (53 m high).
